We all know that eating a good meal is extremely important to the well-being of all children, both mentally and physically. Therefore, we aim to offer the right balance when it comes to your children’s meals at lunchtime. School dinners cost £2.30 per day or £11.50 per week.
If you receive certain tax credits and benefits then you could be eligible for free school meals worth over £300 per child per year. You can find out if you are eligible and apply here. It is completely confidential – no information is passed to teachers or pupils, and your child will not be treated any differently to any other child at lunchtime.
Staffordshire Catering have announced that as of 1st April 2012 they will not be providing information on trace allergens in food. The information they provide will just say that all the meals we serve may contain traces of allergens. This is because there is also a risk of cross contamination in their kitchens and therefore it would be wrong to suggest that some foods are free from the risk of contaminates. The only exception to this is with regard to nuts. Since Staffordshire Catering do not use nuts as an ingredient they can say that their dishes are nut free and that they do not offer any product that contains nuts or nut traces. They will never offer a total guarantee but they do everything reasonable to support this policy. If you currently have an arrangement regarding allergens then please return this form to the school office.
